The Protection Assistant reports to RSD Officer or designated person. He/she is involved in planning and scheduling refugee status determination interviews as well as provides functional, administrative and logistical support to the RSD team including liason, correspondence, monitoring, case management, and reporting activities.
The incumbent provides quality, timely and effective protection support to persons of concern. This may involve liaise externally with communities of concern, local authorities and partners on protection issues as guided by the supervisor.
Scope of Assignments
Provide functional and administrative support to RSD team in relation to the processing of refugee applications.
Set up and manage filing system and documentation, update database, compile statistics, draft reports and routine correspondence.
Plan and prepare interview schedules with a view to optimize resources.
Organize and manage RSD appointments.
Record and keep track of individual performance of team members.
Handle incoming inquiries, phonecalls, emails, mails and provide timely responses.
Monitoring and Progress Controls
RSD activities are implemented in accordance with the relevant standards and procedures.
Filing and documentation system is set up, well maintained and in order.
Statistical information is accurately compiled and relevant reports are submitted on time.
Persons of concern and those who come into contact with the office are treated with respect and professionalism.
Qualifications and Experiences Requirements
- Thai national only.
Bachelor degree in social sciences, humanities, business management.
At least 4 years professional experiences relevant to the function.
Strong organizing and planning skills.
Good interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
Work well under pressure.
Flexible with regards to working hours and disruptive work patterns.
Attention to details.
Excellent computer skills.
Fluency in Thai and English
Excellent Thai-English language skills.
Working knowledge of another relevant UN language an advantage.
