Overview of position

CTG Global provides services to humanitarian organizations, government, non-governmental organizations and corporate's that enables public and private sectors to focus on their core business and the achievement of their objectives in hostile and threatening environments as we provide a safe and secure environment for them to do so and alleviate them of their risks, crisis and personnel management problems.
Role objectives
To supervise all Waste Management staff and ensure that appropriate and safe practices are used in the handling, movement of solid waste and water waste as well as providing supervision to the Vermin Control staff.
Expected output
- To ensure that Team Leaders are enforcing with staff the most appropriate and safe methods of collecting, handling and disposing of a range of waste materials from the premises.
- To provide supervision and guidance to the Waste Management Team Leaders/Waste Management Medical Team Leaders/Vermin Control Team Leader on best practice delivery of services in their specific areas.
- Monitor practices and ensure that any violations or unsafe practices are addressed and appropriate training arranged.
- Delegating tasks to the Team Leaders and ensuring that all staff are completing their work to the highest standards.
- Collating accurate waste management reports across all functions in liaison with the departments Team leaders.
Project reporting
This role reports to the Supervisor.
Key competencies
Education:
- High School education completed – ideally with training in the safe disposal of medical/pharmaceutical waste.
Work Experience: - 5 years’ experience in the management of waste disposal and supervision experience of Team Leaders.
- Ideally trained in Health and Safety in the workplace.
Key Competencies: - Ideally fluent in written and spoken English.
- Accurate record keeping.
- Experience in training staff on best practices/safe handling of general and medical waste.
Team management
This role does not have team management responsibility.
