Chemonics seeks a senior agriculture, forestry, and other land use advisor for an anticipated five-year USAID sustainable landscape activity in Southeast Asia. The project's objective is to catalyze private sector finance to scale up and drive investments in agriculture, forestry, and other land use toward low-emission, profitable business models. This position will be based in Bangkok and will report to the chief of party. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify investment opportunities in low-emission land management
- Develop a pipeline of investment-worthy low-emission projects and businesses
- Assist businesses or projects on the verge of adopting sustainable, low-emission practices to facilitate their access to finance to scale-up low-emission land use and green their supply chains
- Oversee technical activities
- Coordinate delivery and ensure quality of technical deliverables
- Develop well-coordinated, standardized work plans
- Collaborate with the chief of party in designing and implementing activities
- Develop and carry out knowledge management and learning activities for effective country-to-country learning and knowledge dissemination as part of the project's overall knowledge management strategy
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in finance, impact investment, banking, AFOLU, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in sustainable landscapes, natural resource management, or private sector development
- Minimum five years of professional experience in Southeast Asia
- Minimum five years of experience managing and implementing complex donor funded projects and working collaboratively with a broad range of government officials, the private sector, banks, and other key stakeholders
- Proven success building institutional capacity of counterparts at national or local level
- Demonstrated competence in leadership, client relations, and project and contract management
- Experience building national and local counterparts' institutional capacity
- Ability to supervise teams to achieve contractual objectives
- Willingness to travel to various Southeast Asian countries to oversee program implementation and provide technical expertise
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluent English required
