**Terre des Hommes Netherlands (Earth for Mankind) is a Dutch organization founded in 1965, as a non-profit organization. Terre des Hommes Netherlands (TdH) aims to improve the quality of life of children in difficult circumstances all over the world, regardless of race, faith and/or political orientation and to have their rights as laid down in the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child protected and assured.
For its Country Office in Thailand, which covers project areas in Thailand and Myanmar, Terre des Hommes Netherlands is currently looking for a Country Manager position to represent Terre des Hommes Netherlands in Thailand and Myanmar and manage a team and all programmes financed by TdH in the countries, ensuring high levels of programme impact and accountability.
Objective of the position
To ensure that the project partners deliver effective and efficient services to vulnerable children, to realize representation, fundraising and networking results and to ensure a smooth operation of the country office in line with TdH strategy, policies and procedures.
The Country Manager reports directly to the Regional Representative of the Asia region.
Responsibilities and Result areas:
Programme: to ensure that country plan(s) and strategies are in accordance with TdH vision and mission, ensure quality of programmes and projects and appropriate services to beneficiaries, ensure quality of TdH report;
Project funding: to improve cohesion between project implementation and budgets and timely expenditure of the budgets on programme.
Capacity building of partners: to improve quality of projects and assistance to beneficiaries and sufficient quality information to the donors;
Representation, networking and fundraising: to establish and maintain good relationships with relevant government bodies, NGO’s and INGO’s donors institutions and other related organizations to achieve good fundraising results and efficient information supply to internal parties and to donors;
Country office operations: to ensure an effective, efficient and high quality implementation of activities in the country office, as well as lead the team in an inspiring way and in line with TdH policies;
Advisory service for the Regional Representative and cooperation with other country managers: Provide advice and ensure programme team work closely together in order to realize optimal regional organization results
Required knowledge, education, skills and experience
Master degree in International Development, Social Sciences or related field
At least 5 years of working experience working with national or international NGOs and at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Knowledge of programme management and political, religious and social structures of the respective developing country/region.
Commitment to child protection issue especially anti child exploitation.
Good communication skills and fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically.
Experience in fundraising/proposal writing from a variety of institutions, both local and international.
Proven experience in project planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Result driven and able to cooperate in a cross cultural environment
Persuasive, being able to create and maintain good rapport with project partners and a good networker
Good IT skills, google apps and willing to learn others if required
Knowledge of development cooperation
Willing to frequently travel to partner organizations
Contract Period: One year contract with a possibility of extension.**
