Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC)**, established in 1986, is a regional non-profit foundation with headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. It supports the advancement of safer communities and sustainable development through implementing programs that reduce the impact of disasters upon countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific. The primary geographical focus of ADPC’s activities is Asia with South, South East and East Asia being the primary sub-regions.
ADPC has more than 30 years of experience working for a safer Asia in partnership with the national and local governments of its charter member countries as well as the member states of the Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) on Disaster Management. ADPC addresses the region’s preparedness needs in development of capacities and promotion of learning; dissemination of information and knowledge management; provision of technical and advisory services; implementation of pioneering regional programs; preparation and follow-up of global and regional mechanisms; establishment of new regional mechanisms; support for inter-agency coherence and coordination; and catalytic facilitation and partnership to sub-regional mechanisms. Statement of Intent:
The Senior Communication Coordinator will provide support to the Communication Manager in advancing the disaster risk reduction agenda through targeted, innovative communications that reach and foster change in key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications/ Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or other relevant field;
- At five years of working experience in a similar role;
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken;
- Strong writing and editing skills;
- Proven experience in website and social media management;
- Good computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software
- Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills, and ability to work with a team in a multi-cultural environment;
- Previous in-country working experience in South and Southeast Asia;
- Experience of working in an international non-profit organization is an advantage;
- Ability to work independently and be service-minded and detail-oriented;
- Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Good planning and organizing skills; and
- A strong desire to learn and undertake new challenges.
- Video/multimedia production (preferred)
- Experience with Wordpress, Campaign monitor and Mail Chimp (preferred)
- Must be allowed to work legally in Thailand.
General Requirements:
- Operate within all ADPC guidelines, procedures and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the overall supervision of Communication Manager, the incumbent will perform the following duties
- Create engaging content for ADPC’s corporate website and website administration.
- Support the annual review of the ADPC Communication Strategy and the subsequent implementation plan.
- Update the ADPC Social Media Strategy and adapt it as necessary to ensure ADPC’s digital communication remains relevant.
- Create and curate engaging content for ADPC’s social media channels; infographics, charts, and photo collages should be included in this content.
- Create monthly reports that show the popularity and growth of ADPC’s social media channels.
- Maintain ADPC’s cloud-based knowledge management platform
- Capture the impact and best practices of ADPC’s work through impact stories
- Develop and disseminate ADPC’s corporate e-newsletter and report on the e-newsletter’s popularity to staff.
- Support any ADPC project that is associated with social media and/or media engagement and capacity building.
- Develop corporate outreach materials, including factsheets, brochures, posters etc.;
- Track news coverage of ADPC and its key issues.
- Administer ADPC’s corporate email account; and
- Any other tasks assigned by the Communication Manager.
Reporting Relationship:
- Report directly to the Communication Manager; and
- Work closely with other staff of ADPC.
Contract: One (1) year contract with possibility of extension.
