Programme coordinators are often the face of an organisation responsible for convening and delivering on a project. Here at Oxfam, the job you do will have an even bigger impact than that. As a coordinator for the Fair Finance Guide (FFG) in Asia, you’ll be helping to create a brighter future for those living in poverty across the region.

The Role

The aim of the FFG tool is to initiate a ‘race to the top’ between banks on CSR, transparency, and other social, environmental and human rights standards. Ideally, this would help bring about a self-reinforcing process whereby banks continuously raise their adherence to those standards, ultimately resulting in more sustainable lending, investments and asset management all over the world. If the banking system is fair, especially in the Asian context then we would also be taking a step in the right direction in terms of providing financial inclusion to the excluded in Asia.

Your role would be to convene, coordinate, communicate and facilitate with various financial actors, (including but not limited to donors, regulators, Development Banks, Central Banks, Governments, Businesses, ASEAN etc) in South East Asia on a regional and national level to develop a fundable proposal for a Fair Finance Guide. Underpinning it all will be your own determination to end poverty and injustice, and absolute conviction that everyone in the world should be treated equally.

What we are looking for

You are motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision and have a good understanding of Economic, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria and policies along with the understanding of international guidelines for the financial sector in particular. Your experience in the Asian context would allow you to have a keen sense of regional financial flows and access to Asian financial networks. You would have experience in convening, facilitation, and coordination of multiple stakeholders.
