Purpose of consultancy:
The post of Programme Assistant for Communications is located in UNFPA Thailand Country Office in Bangkok. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the National Programme Officer for Communications, the Programme Assistant for Communications provides support functions to ensure effective implementation for the Tenth Programme Cycle.
The incumbent is expected to provide supports in liaison for corporate communication activities, in regular contacts with media and in updating regular content on UNFPA Thailand’s website and social media updating. S/He will deliver quality services to the Country Programme, mastering all relevant rules, guidelines, process and procedures.
Scope of work:
Under the supervision of the National Professional Officer for Communications, the incumbent will provide supports in:
• Liaison for the successful corporate and public communication activities;
• Maintain regular positive contacts with Thai mainstream media;
• Update UNFPA Thailand’s website and social media platforms;
• Undertake other official tasks relevant to communications as required. This occasionally includes non-working hours.
Duration and working schedule: Six months
Place where services are to be delivered: UNFPA Thailand Country Office
Work Relations
• Internal partners include all staff members in the Country Office.
• External partners include private sector and key stakeholders.

Expected travel: Bangkok Metropolitan area and upcountry as required
Required expertise, qualifications and competencies, including language requirements:
Education
Completed Secondary Level Education required. First degree in Communications, Social Science, International Relations or Economics is an asset.
Knowledge and Experience
• 5 years of experience in support functions of corporate communications and/or public relations/diplomacy on social development issues including sexual and reproductive health, empowerment and economic development
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Planning, organizing and multi-tasking
• Good writing and communication skills
• Good computer literacy – Word, Excel, Power-point, etc.
• Sophisticated social media skills
