Thailand: Deputy chief of party

Chemonics seeks a deputy chief of party for the anticipated five-year, USAID Counter Trafficking in Persons project, part of a comprehensive effort by the U.S government to combat human trafficking in Asia. The project aims to reduce the vulnerability of at-risk individuals and groups to human trafficking, increase the quality and availability of support for trafficked persons, and improve access to justice for trafficked persons. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee transnational management and technical operations
  • Oversee creation of a monitoring and evaluation framework to measure progress and the impact of technical activities
  • Ensure that rigorous research is integrated throughout the project to identify and share outcomes and impact of activities
  • Ensure that program activities are results-oriented and deliverables are high quality, and meet relevant reporting requirements
  • Lead project work planning and reporting and contribute to contract deliverables
  • Oversee adherence to implementation schedule and work plan, and ensure cohesion across result areas

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in international relations, social science, political science, or other related field
  • Minimum seven years of relevant professional experience managing and implementing human rights and similar or related development projects
  • Demonstrated success in designing, managing, and implementing USAID technical assistance projects
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of issues related to human trafficking in Asia and the technical aspects of counter-trafficking project design and implementation
  • Expertise designing and conducting human trafficking field research; experience interviewing trafficking victims and/or providing direct assistance or legal aid to victims highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in gender and development issues, and demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing programs that mainstream gender
  • Demonstrated drafting and report writing skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
