International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organization headquartered in Washington, DC that protects the vulnerable from violence by partnering with government authorities to rescue victims, bring criminals to justice, restore survivors, and strengthen criminal justice systems so they protect the vulnerable from violence and abuse long-term. IJM is a global team of lawyers, social workers and other professionals. IJM has 17 field offices across the globe, including multiple offices in Southeast Asia.
IJM has worked in northern Thailand through IJM’s Chiang Mai field office (FO) since 2000, partnering with government authorities on hill tribe Thai citizenship cases and cases of sexual violence against children. In 2017, IJM will establish a new field office in Bangkok that will provide support to Thai authorities to eliminate labor trafficking and forced labor from the Thai fishing and seafood industries. IJM lawyers, fieldworkers, social workers and other professionals will support Thai law enforcement, social services and the judiciary to identify and prosecute cases of forced labor and labor trafficking crimes and restore labor trafficking survivors to safety and strength.
Position Details:
IJM is seeking an IT Support Technician for its Bangkok Field Office. The successful candidate will manage the office’s information technology system and ensure the continuous availability and reliability of network systems and IT services that are compliant with the organization’s standards and policies.
Responsibilities:
Set up and manage the FO information technology system, including:
- Set up/Install/Update computers (including all computer-based electronic systems) and other communications (e.g. PABX system) network according to IJM headquarters IT standards.
- Ensure continuous availability and reliability of network services, including performing related preventive maintenance and repair procedures in coordination with IT service provider.
- Periodically evaluate network performance and recommend improvements as necessary.
- Ensure proper maintenance and/or repair of computer resources, including keeping updated inventory listing of assets.
- Ensure FO Shared Drive, E-mail, Internet and other IT systems are operational.
- Train network users on the proper use and care of IT resources.
- Train network users in prevention and awareness on current IT security issues.
- Utilize Helpdesk ticketing system through Freshdesk, in coordination with IJM’s Regional IT Specialist.
- Manage and direct repairs to qualified contractors as needed, in coordination with IJM’s Regional IT Specialist.
- Empower network users to perform basic IT troubleshooting.
- Remind all network users of importance of compliance with headquarters and field office IT standards and policies, including Helpdesk Ticketing systems, social media posts, etc.
Provide other IT support services as follows:
- Facilitate purchase of IT assets and manage IT supplies, including toners, batteries, monitors, etc.
- Ensure CCTV, office access control system, and PABX system are operational.
- Maintenance of magnetic door system and record issuance of security-related cards for magnetic door.
- Provide technical support on audio/video interview related activities.
- Provide technical software support for finance department software.
- Provide technical support to projects/activities that involve use of specialized IT equipment or software/application.
Other:
- Provide administrative support during joint activities with partners as may be necessary - IT support and/or logistics support. Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Human Resources and Administrative Manager.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Fluency in oral and written communication in English and Thai.
- Bachelor’s degree or Vocational Diploma in Computer Science or any computer related course from an accredited university.
- Working knowledge in computer hardware and software maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office 2013 applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop CS3 or later preferred.
- Experience in Audio/Video recording concept and assembly preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows Movie Maker and/or other similar applications a plus.
- Knowledge in network administration using Microsoft Server Applications a plus.
